HealthInsite (www.healthinsite.gov.au ) provides a wide range of up-to-date and quality assessed information on important health topics such as diabetes, cancer, mental health and asthma.

Better Health (www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au ) was founded in 1999 by the Victorian Department of Human Services, Australia as a consumer health information website for the Victorian community. Most of the information is applicable to Tasmania, including useful information on men's health .

The Salvation Army has launched Hope for Life - Suicide Prevention Program (www.suicideprevention.salvos.org.au ) which also includes a national helpline (1300 467 354 or 1300 HOPE LINE)

Tasmania's Mental Health Services provide a range of community and inpatient services for individuals with a mental illness and their families.

National Rural Health Students Network

The National Rural Health Students' Network (NRHSN) represents 29 Rural Health Clubs with over 8,000 members located at universities throughout Australia. The NRHSN is a multidisciplinary Network representing medical, nursing and allied health students aiming to increase the health workforce and health outcomes for rural and remote Australians.

Patient travel assistance scheme (DHHS)

The Patient Travel Assistance Scheme (PTAS) provides financial assistance with travel and/or accommodation costs to Tasmanian residents who need to travel: more than 50 kms (one way) to the nearest oncology or dialysis treatment centre; or more than 75 kms (one way) to the nearest appropriate specialist medical service; or more than 75 kms (one way) to access lymphoedema treatment from their permanent residence.

Protective Agricultural Safety and Support inc (PASS)

PASS Inc is a “Not for Profit”, grass roots organization, passionate about safety in the rural workplace that aims to eliminate fatalities, and injuries in rural workplaces.

Salvation army suicide prevention program

The Salvation Army program Hope for Life highlights that suicide prevention is everybody's business. The program consists of a national HopeLine (1300 467 354 or 1300 HOPE LINE) for people bereaved through suicide.
