FarmPoint Computer Program - 2nd Round

Computer/mouse.jpg Following on from the success of the first FarmPoint Computer and Training Program, a second round will be delivered from late August 2008. Round 1 saw over 200 farmers access training from 138 Tasmanian primary production businesses throughout Tasmania. Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with 95 percent of respondant saying the program met their expectations, and 85 percent would recommend the program to others.

The program is expected to be again delivered in a partnership between Department of Primary Industries and Water, Department of Education, Online Access Centres and TAFE Tasmania. The cost will again be $250, which will include and ex-Government desktop computer and up to six hours of one-on-one training at a regional Online Access Centre.

Tasmanian farmers who earn a majority of their income from a commercial primary production enterprise are eligible to apply.
