The FarmPoint Computer and Training Program is open to Tasmanian farmers who derive a majority of their income from primary production.
The FarmPoint Computer and Training Program aims to provide participating Tasmanian farmers with the necessary resources, skills and support to take advantage of information available online and to develop skills to enable improved business management.
This is in accordance with the Government’s SMART Farming Policy to “provide second hand departmental computers to farmers who undertake courses on using computers to improve their businesses”.
The FarmPoint Computer and Training Program will be rolled out from September 2007 in regional areas of Tasmania to eligible primary producers* at a cost of approximately $250. FarmBis** training accreditation is expected to enable growers to recoup up to 65% ($162.50) of the cost after the training has been undertaken.
The FarmPoint Computer and Training Program includes a minimum of six hours customised computer training at a local Online Access Centre along with training materials including an ex-departmental computer.
You may alsofill out the FarmPoint Computer and Training Program Survey to help us make the site and the program more useful to Tasmanian farmers.
