SMART water development

The SMART Farming Farm Water Development Plan Program (FWDPP) provides funding to subsidise the costs of the preparation of Farm Water Development Plans to identify opportunities and options to ensure effective use of existing water supplies and to access additional irrigation water to enhance farm productivity and production.

Farmers currently deriving or intending to derive a significant proportion of their income from commercial farming are eligible for support under the Farm Water Development Plan Program. The aim of this Program is to optimise the sustainability and reliability of existing irrigation water use and to promote planning for irrigation developments that increase agricultural productivity and production.

The FWDPP provides a great opportunity for existing and potential irrigators to ensure that they make the best use of the available water sources to meet their current and longer-term needs.
