Research services for farmers

Research services offered by the Department of Primary Industries and Water (DPIW) Library include access to a number of free online databases and the library catalogue of the Department.

DPIW library staff are happy to assist farmers with their research and information needs.  Services provided include: research expertise; ready reference help; literature searches to ensure farmers are up-to-date with current research; access to the extensive journal collection, books, CD-ROMs and databases for use within the library; inter-library loans for resources not held on a cost-recovery basis; introductory library tours; training in the use of the library catalogues and internet resources; and photocopying at 20 cents per page.

Department of Primary Industries and Water library catalogue

The catalogue is a database of books, journals, pamphlets, videos, theses, web pages, pdfs, the national estate collection, Tasmanian environmental impact statements, agricultural research reports held or indexed by the DPIW Libraries as well as a range of other sources.
