Recent Events:
A vigorous westerly flow over Tasmania will persist through to Wednesday as aseries of weak fronts pass mostly to the south of the state with an area of highpressure to the north. A high centred over the Tasman Sea becomes the dominantinfluence late Wednesday and early Thursday, with a low and associated coldfront to approach across the Bight during Thursday. Statewide rain yesterday,tending to showers late afternoon. Showers contracting mainly to the west andsouth overnight and early this morning, with fine conditions elsewhere. Galeforce winds about the south with gusts up to 126 km/h recorded on MaatsuykerIsland. Fresh to strong and gusty west to northwesterly winds elsewhere. Heavyswells in the west and south, with low swells recorded on all coastlines.

were close to average through all districts, with the lowest reportedtemperature of -1 degree recorded on Mt Wellington.

Statewide rain. Moderate to heavy falls were recorded about the west, withmostly moderate totals through the remainder, although a little lighter in thesoutheast. The highest reported total was 34 millimetres at Warra [northwest ofgeeveston].
