Proposed new regulatory requirements for aerial and ground spraying of pesticides have been released for public comment. The tightening of regulations for both aerial and ground spraying was part of a review of the Agricultural and Veterinary Chemical (Control of Use) Regulations 1996, in response to concern in the community about spraying of pesticides.
The Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals (Control of Use) Regulations 2008 have now been drafted to provide the proposed new regulatory requirements for both aerial and ground spraying.Anyone wanting to receive the documents or requiring further information can contact Peter Lee-Archer on (03) 6336 5252, or go to public comments on www.dpiw.tas.gov.au .
