Horse flu restrictions lifted - 1 July 2008

All EI-related restrictions are now lifted

From 1 July 2008, horses from the mainland are able to enter Tasmania without the need for any certificate or importation declaration. This means Tasmania has returned to the horse entry requirements that applied before the outbreak of EI on the mainland in August last year.

All other States have lifted the last of their EI-related movement restrictions as well. So, in practice, it means that horses can once again move around Australia without the need for the formal travel documentation that was required as part of our response to the EI outbreak.
