The Water Information System of Tasmania (WIST) is a single point of access to Tasmanian freshwater related information. You can select, display and download information on stream flow, water quality and fresh water related documents. WIST is accessed via http://water.dpiw.tas.gov.au.

Building on the success of the r Meander Dam, a further $80 million has been committed by the Tasmanian Government to progress large-scale irrigation development in the State. The SMART Farming Water Initiative provides $3.1 million over the next four years (2006/7 - 2009/10) for a multi-focussed approach to shore up existing water supplies for irrigated agriculture and to achieve reliable and sustainable additional irrigation supplies.
